Memorial Day Parade

The 2022 Memorial Day Parade will take a different route this year and will include a dedication of the new Veterans Memorial Park.

The parade will begin at New Era Christian School, turn south on James St, West on Ray Ave, south on 2nd St, east on Blair, and then south on Oceana Dr. The parade will finish at the Veterans Memorial Park at the corner of Oceana Dr and Garfield Rd where we will have a veteran address and a dedication ceremony.

There will be a bike decorating contest for kids with cash prizes – arrive early for judging. The Shelby High School Marching Band will be participating in the parade, along with old fashioned cars and trucks, local police, ambulance, and fire truck drivers, veterans escorted by their families or in cars provided for them, Ms. Asparagus and Runner-Up, local boy scouts, and the kids on their decorated bicycles.
